Crew Member

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and provide service for all studio visitors and customers
  • Be familiar with all pricing, programs, events, etc.
  • Instruct customers on the use of all studio materials and techniques
  • Multi-tasking while working the studio floor and assisting guests, including answering phone calls in a friendly and efficient manner and taking reservations
  • Operate studio cash register system (POS system) accurately and completely
  • Book parties, field trips, group visits
  • Identify and keep track of customers’ pottery choices
  • Restocking shelves and maintain design center materials as needed
  • Put away inventory and supply orders as they arrive
  • Process orders, including matching and contacting customers regarding finished orders
  • Lead and instruct parties, fieldtrips, and workshops for kids and adults in a confident and efficient manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning the studio, tables, and supplies
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Paint birthday plates & samples as needed
  • Work in the backroom processing orders (glazing and loading the kiln). Training provided, no experience necessary. 


Physical Demands

  • Lifting of boxes and/or supplies between 5-50 pounds
  • Working 6+ hours on your feet
  • Stretching, twisting and bending to load/unload kilns or clean
  • Crouching, stooping or kneeling to stock or retrieve pottery or clean
  • Climbing to retrieve pottery or clean
  • Fine motor skills


Reports to: Crew Lead and/or Assistant Manager

Work Schedule: Part Time. Variable, must commit to at least one weekend shift.

Shift: Two to four shifts per week.

  • The average shift is 6 to 7 hours for ages 18+

Art experience is NOT necessary!

The perfect applicant is someone who will be enthusiastic, personable and patient.

Join Our Crew

Crew van Gogh

You will be the face of Tru 2 Hue by traveling to offsite locations. You must have reliable transportation.


Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and provide service to site contact and their attendees
  • Be familiar with all pricing, programs, events, etc.
  • Lead and instruct parties, fieldtrips, and workshops for kids and adults in a confident and efficient manner
  • Provide instruction on the use of paints and other applicable materials
  • Engage and interact with guests
  • Keep time and move process along
  • Identify and keep track of customers’ pottery choices
  • Collect and verify items needed for the mobile experience
  • Deliver items to studio and process orders, including ensuring all items are accounted for and labeled correctly
  • Make sure birthday plates are created and signed by guests (if applicable)
  • Assist with serving food, cake or other related activities as needed
  • Set up and clean up for all parties, fieldtrips, and workshop
  • Identify, mark & keep track of all pottery choices
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance

  • Lifting of boxes and/or supplies between 5-50 pounds
  • Working 2+ hours on your feet

We create on the go!

We take the fun to schools, businesses, and to patrons hosting parties.

Crew Lead

 Responsibilities include all of the above, as well as:

  • Run the studio independently, including opening/closing the studio
  • Assess and prioritize daily/weekly studio tasks
  • Manage patron relationships requiring special attention or information
  • Problem solving and positively resolving customer or studio issues
  • Assist with employee training
  • Assist with planning and executing special events and/or workshops as needed
  • Update social media (weekly)
  • Work in the backroom (maintaining the kiln and special orders). Training provided, no experience necessary. 

 

Physical Demands

  • Lifting of boxes and/or supplies between 5-50 pounds
  • Working 6+ hours on your feet
  • Stretching, twisting and bending to load/unload kilns or clean
  • Crouching, stooping or kneeling to stock or retrieve pottery or clean

Reports to: Assistant Manager

Work Schedule: Part Time. Variable, must commit to at least one weekend shift.

Shift: Minimum of three shifts per week.

There is always opportunity for growth!

A Crew Lead may grow into a role with higher level duties after 1 year with positive performance review.

Assistant Manager

 Responsibilities include all of the above, as well as:

  • Manage all customer correspondence including pottery pick up, party requests and information inquiries 
  • Manage studio calendar including parties, field trips, to go visits 
  • Prioritize and instruct team members on completion of to do list
  • Plan and execute special events (1 per month)
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in studio
  • Maintain adequate levels of studio supplies 
  • Ensure adequate pottery supply for parties and group visits
  • Plan and put up studio window, displays and calendar
  • Create staff schedule 
  • Manage the employee time clock and payroll processing
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Coordinate last minute schedule changes
  • Work with special orders, custom painting, painting for auction and fun'raisers
  • Update studio website and online calendar monthly
  • Update social media with special events, promotions, and photos as necessary
  • Manage email list
  • Train new employees

What's more?

Assistant Manager may also  may be eligible to attend continuing education events within the  PYOP industry.
